THE GUIDE

The board is 4 by 4. Swipe up, down, left or right and every tile slides as far as it can. Two tiles of the same stage that bump into each other merge into the next stage, and their values add up to your score. After every move new eggs (2s) drop into empty cells.

The game ends when the board is full and no move can merge anything. Your current game saves on every move, so you can close the app and carry on later.

Your pet on the home screen always shows the best stage you have reached with it, standing in its habitat.

Each tile value is one stage. Stages marked with a star play an evolution scene when you reach them in a game: the full scene the first time your pet gets there on that mode, a short burst after that.

There are 8 pets. You pick one at the start, and you can change pet any time with the PETS button on the home screen. Changing pet starts a new game; your best for each pet is kept.

"Raise any pet to adult once" means reaching the 2048 tile with any pet. Achievements count toward the penguin and robot as soon as you earn them. The axolotl and ghost eggs are sold in the shop and are never needed to finish anything else.

The mode only changes what drops in after each move.

When the board is nearly full, a double drop becomes a single 2. Your best tile and score are kept for each mode separately.

The journal lists all 16 stages of the pet you are raising. Stages you have not reached yet are silhouettes. A reached stage gets a medal for the hardest mode you reached it on (Easy earns no medal):

Undo takes back your last move and costs one undo token. You get a free token early in each game, and you can watch a short ad for 5 more. If the board fills up, you can watch an ad to clear the smallest tiles and keep going.

With Remove Ads, undo tokens and continues are given without an ad. Reaching adult without any undo earns No Take Backs.

Open SHOP on the home screen. Everything there is a one-time purchase that stays with your Google Play account or Apple ID:

• Remove Ads: no banner and no ads after game overs.
• Hard and Super Hard modes, each on its own.
• The axolotl egg and the ghost egg, each on its own.

New phone? Tap Restore Purchases at the bottom of the shop. Need help with a purchase? See support.

• Keep your biggest tile in a corner and build along one edge.
• Pick two directions you use most, and a third only when you have to.
• Merge small tiles early so they do not clog the board.
• On Hard and Super Hard, leave room: two tiles can drop at once.
• Save undo tokens for the late game, where one slip costs the most.
