How to play

Turn the circles, match the colours

Everything you need, from the first turn to a full 3x3.

  1. Step 1

    Pick a puzzle

The menu shows nine puzzles, each drawn as the cuboid it is. Start at the top with the 1x1x2: two halves, and the first level is one turn from solved.

Levels open one at a time. Inside a puzzle, the scrambles get deeper as you go, from a single turn to a proper mix.

  2. Step 2

    Read the board

The board is a cube laid flat. Every circle is one layer of the cube, and every coloured dot sits where two circles cross. Dots that crowd together in one region belong to one face of the cube.

The circles around each centre share a colour, so you can tell at a glance which circles turn together.

  3. Step 3

    Turn a circle

Drag along a circle on the board and its dots ride round with your finger, snapping into place when you let go. Or use the turn pad under the board: the left side turns counter-clockwise, the right side clockwise, one row per centre.

The buttons use cube notation. R turns the right face clockwise and R' turns it back. R2 is a half turn, which is the only turn some cuboid sides can make. From level 11, the middle slices M, E and S join the pad.

  4. Step 4

    Undo, reset, and hints

Undo takes back one turn and reset returns to the scramble. Both are free and unlimited, and there is no timer.

A hint shows the whole run of turns from where you are to solved. You start with a few and earn one back for every solve. Run out, and you can watch a short video for three more.

  5. Step 5

    Bring every face home

When every cluster is a single colour, the cube is solved. The board celebrates, your turn count is saved if it is your best, and the next level opens.
