1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and anggastudio(“we”, “us”) about your use of the Paku app (package / bundle ID com.anggastudio.paku) on Android and iPhone. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

If you got the app from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Where the two differ on iPhone, Apple’s agreement takes precedence.

2. What the App Does

Pakuturns your phone into three tools: a stud finder that uses the phone’s magnetic sensor to detect the metal screws and nails that hold drywall to the studs, a bubble level, and an angle finder. The app works offline and has no user accounts. Sensor readings stay on your device. How we handle data is described in the Paku Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.

3. Use It as a Helper, Not a Guarantee

Read this before you drill. Pakudetects metal, not wood. It cannot see through brick, concrete or thick plaster, and it does not detect plastic pipes. Electrical wires, metal pipes and other metal objects in a wall can look like a screw. How well the stud finder, the level and the angle finder work depends on your phone’s sensors, their calibration, and the magnets and metal around you.

  • Do not drill near outlets, switches, or where readings run sideways along the wall.
  • Turn off the power and water before drilling where wires or pipes could be.
  • Confirm a stud another way (a small test hole, a dedicated stud finder, or building plans) before you hang anything heavy.
  • For work where precision matters for safety, such as structural, electrical or plumbing work, use proper tools and a qualified professional.

You are responsible for the decisions you make with the readings the app shows.

4. Your License to Use the App

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control. You may not:

  • copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, except where the law allows it;
  • get around the purchase checks or the limits of the free version;
  • use the app in a way that breaks the law or harms other people.

The app and its design belong to us. These Terms do not give you ownership of them.

5. Paku Pro, Free Trial and Payments

The app is free to download. The bubble level is free, and the stud finder includes 3 free scans. Paku Pro unlocks unlimited stud finder scans and the angle finder. The features may change over time.

Pro is offered as:

  • Weekly and yearly subscriptions, which renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel;
  • Lifetime, a one-time purchase that unlocks Pro for as long as we offer the app, on the store account you bought it with.

All payments are processed by the store you use, Google Play on Android or the App Store on iPhone, under that store’s terms. The price, the currency and any taxes are shown by the store before you confirm, and may differ by country. We never see your card or payment details.

Renewal and cancellation.A subscription is charged to your store account when you confirm and then at the start of each new period. It renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can cancel at any time in your store account: on Android, Google Play Store > Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions; on iPhone, Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. After you cancel, Pro stays on until the end of the period you already paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.

Free trial. Where the store offers it, the yearly plan starts with a 3-day free trial. The store decides who is eligible, usually one trial per store account. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the yearly price is charged when the trial ends.

Refunds. Refunds are handled by the store, under its refund policy. We cannot refund a store purchase ourselves. To ask for one, use Google Play’s refund page or Apple’s Report a Problem.

Restoring and moving purchases. Use Restore purchases in the app to get Pro back on a new device signed in to the same store account. A purchase made on Google Play does not carry over to the App Store, or the other way around.

Price changes. We may change prices for future periods. The store tells you in advance, as its rules require, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

6. Updates

We may update the app, change or remove features, or stop offering it. If we stop offering Pro, we will not charge new subscription periods. Updates may be needed to keep using the app.

7. Third-Party Services

The app relies on services run by others: Google Play and the App Store for downloads and payments, and RevenueCat to check your Pro status. Their own terms apply to how they work.

8. Disclaimer

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be free of errors, that its readings will be accurate on every phone or wall, or that it is suitable for a particular purpose. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract under the law of your country.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for damage to property, walls, wires or pipes that results from relying on the app’s readings. Our total liability to you for any claim about the app is limited to the amount you paid for Paku Pro in the 12 months before the claim. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Ending These Terms

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it (and, for a subscription, cancelling it in your store account). We may end your license if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms. Sections 3, 8, 9 and 11 continue after these Terms end.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when the app or the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page changes with them. For an important change, we will also tell you on this page before it takes effect. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply.
