How the stud finder works

It finds the metal, so you find the stud.

  1. 1Hold the phone still, away from metal, while it calibrates.
  2. 2Lay it flat on the wall and slide it slowly sideways.
  3. 3It buzzes over a screw or nail. Mark the spot.
  4. 4Check above and below. A vertical line of screws is a stud.

Honest note

Paku finds metal, not wood.

It works on drywall fixed with screws or nails. It cannot see through brick or concrete. Wires and pipes are metal too, so do not drill near outlets and switches, or where a reading runs sideways along the wall.
